FIVE HUNDRED were invited but understandably about half came the evening of July 1 when torrential rain paralyzed most of Cebu.
The event was at the Marco Polo Plaza Hotel to mark its 10 years of presence in Cebu, with a party to literally “Delight Your Senses–Timeless at 10.”
It was a fabulous party and it was nice to see Hans Hauri who was the Marco Polo’s general manager for
a great part of those 10 years.
Current general manager Julie Najar who has been with the hotel from the very start welcomed all with an eloquent speech.
A special message came from Alfred Ty, of Cathay International Resources Corporation, and chairman of Federal Land. That means the Marco Polo.
He and Julie led the toasts along with Pascual Garcia, Fidel Malacca, and Xavier Masson, the hotel’s resident manager.
Event host was Mia Ali with entertainment numbers performed by Isay Alvarez and Robert Seña.
Vice Gov. Agnes Magpale graced the occasion, as did Amparito Lhuillier, Bobit and Jessica Avila, Gema Pido, Tetta Ba-ad, Dawn Roa, Wilson and Melanie Ng, the Radisson’s GM Laurent Boisdron, Waterfront GM Anders Halden, Pinky Chang, Dr. Apollo and Dr. Stephanie Sitoy, and many more.
