A newly born baby girl was found near a store along Sangi road in Barangay Pajo, Lapu-Lapu City at 5 a.m. Monday.

Musa Ustal, sari-sari store owner and resident of the area said he was surprised to discover the baby placed in a carton box and left near the garbage dump.

Ustal took the baby to his house and reported it to the police who then brought it to Lapu-Lapu City hospital. No one saw the person who left the baby and there were no claimants at the hospital.

Lapu-Lapu City’s social welfare office was informed about the baby and will take custody of the infant.
