Participants of the Cobra IronMan 70.3 Asia-Pacific Championship cheered as media personality Kim Atienza read tomorrow’s weather forecast which indicates 65 percent chance of rain during the run course.
Atienza said the rain will be brought by the southwest monsoon caused by Tropical Storm Omais .
While it won’t enter the country it will still affect Cebu’s weather tomorrow with rain and strong winds.
At 8 am tomorrow, Atienza said athletes may experience the strong headwind at 27 kph, but he assured this also entails a strong tailwind.
Temperature is expected to hover between 30°C to 34°C, but may further rise to 38°C by noon, Atienza said.
He said this is actually a cool day, compared to the previous races that have reached to 40°C to 41°C./USJ-R Intern Dafne Wenceslao
