IT’S going to be the first acting project for Indian exchange student Addy Raj as he will portray the role of one of four friends who will fight for the heart of Barbie Forteza in the latest offering of GMA, “Meant To Be” slated to premiere early next month.
Addy started his career in a reality singing competition and later wanted to push his luck in showbiz more.
“It’s my first acting project. It’s not that hard because our characters are eighty percent alike as to who we really are,” he said during a recent interview with the “Meant To Be” cast, a few hours before they went to two mall tours in Cebu.
Addy describes his character Jai Patel as playful, naughty, someone who doesn’t take life seriously and has a lot of girls. But when he met Barbie’s character, Billie, he vowed to change and give up the kind of lifestyle he has.
“Well, he’s always smiling but it’s not about the girls all the time,” answered Addy, laughing, when asked how similar he is in real life to to his character in “Meant To Be.” In the series, Addy will have stiff competition as Billie’s other suitors are Jak Roberto, Ken Chan and Ivan Dorschner.
He, however, admitted that he has experienced the same situation in real life, when he and his friend fell for the same girl. The lady eventually chose Addy over his friend.
“I have been on the same situation but it did not affect me and my friend. We liked the same girl and then I got the girl. I was kinda sorry though,” he said.
