CHIDING GABBY

Most netizens were not surprised by President Rodrigo Duterte’s tirade against ABS-CBN, as he had repeated called the TV network to task for supposedly refusing to air his election campaign ad last year despite paying P2 million.

But what amused them was when the President mistakenly referred to ABS-CBN chairman Eugenio “Gabby” Lopez as “Gabby Concepcion,” the actor.

Annette Tucker also wrote: “Poor Gabby, You have my permission to go after the president hehehe.”

Another netizen named Maria Go wrote: “Klaro kaau na si Duterte dili fan ni Gabby Concepcion. Okay rana, ma sayop man jud ang tao (Clearly, Duterte is no fan of Gabby Concepcion. It’s okay; people make mistakes)”

But Egbert Alfonso did not mind the Gabby Concepcion gaff and instead went after the network: “Kung totoo ibabalik na ninyo yan taga ABS CBN ang pera (If that’s true then ABS-CBN should return the money). Very shameful to the public. Pwede pa yan idagdag sa budget na mga mahihirap na Filipino ngayon (It should be added to the budget to help the poor Filipinos).”
