Metro Manila Film festival 2017 Deadma walking

HAVING a Palanca award-winning screenplay is what sets “Deadma Walking” apart from the rest of the entries to this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival.

Eric Cabahug’s screenplay won second prize in the Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature in 2016.

The film, which stars Joross Gamboa and Edgar Allan Guzman, is about two gay best friends named John and Mark.

John (Gamboa) is dying and with the help of Mark, he fakes his own death and funeral so that he would know what his friends think of him.

Directed by Julius Alfonso, the film is produced by T-Rex Entertainment and OctoArts Films.

“Sobrang dami niyong matututunan sa palabas na ito! Promise,” Gamboa said in an Instagram post.

Guzman, for his part, posted on his Instagram account: “Mga beshie! Eto ang mga dahilan kung bakit mo kailangan mapanood ang DEADMA WALKING!!! Apir! Kitakits tayo sa sinehan on December 25.”

Graded A by the Cinema Evaluation Board, the film also stars Dimples Romana, with the special participation of Gerald Anderson, Eugene Domingo, and Piolo Pascual.
