DORMAKABA continued to run roughshod over the rest of the league as it posted its sixth win in as many games with a 76-44 bashing of Phoenix in the Architects + Engineers Basketball Club Corporate Cup 2018 last Saturday at the University of San Carlos gym.

The writing was on the wall as early as the first period as Dorma raced off to a 26-9 lead and pushed it further to 47-17 at halftime.

Dorma struggled to put some points in the third as it managed just five but Phoenix could not take advantage, scoring just 12 to still trail 52-29 going to the fourth.

Dorma put the exclamation point on the win with a 24-15 fourth period performance to get the win and stand atop the leaderboard at 6-0 (win-loss).

Former league MVP Ed Macasling led the team with 22 points while Poi Magno added 13 markers, seven boards, three assists and a blocked shot.

Phoenix dropped to 1-5 for the tournament and into a tie with Rain or Shine and Eastgrand for the worst record in the tournament.

In another game, Fenestram nabbed its fifth win in six tries after it bested Eastgrand, 83-54.

Mark Malinao had 16 while Fred Bacus notched 15 in the lopsided win.

Island Paints, meanwhile, withstood the 43-point explosion of Mike Cinco to come away with an 85-75 win over Davies Paints for its fourth win in six games.

Dexsel Caandan scored 20 while Chester Hinagdanan pumped in 18 to help give Island Paints the important win with just one more playdate left in the elimination round.
