Security for traffic enforcers
LAPU-Lapu City police will provide security in areas manned by traffic enforcers in light of last Sunday afternoon’s murder of three persons at an Internet shop at the back of the Birhen sa Regla Parish Church in Poblacion, Lapu-Lapu City.
Two of the three victims identified as Angni Osman and Jamel Babangol were reportedly “persons of interest” in the murder of City Traffic Management System (CTMS) traffic enforcer Edmond Boter last July 18.
Supt. Eloveo Marquez, chief of the Lapu-Lapu City police’s Investigation Detective Management Branch (IDMB) said Osman and Babanggol were identified by witnesses through security camera footage taken of Boter’s murder in Barangay Poblacion, Lapu-Lapu City.
The 52-year-old Osman, his 22-year-old son Hasim Osman and 22-year-old Jamel Babangol were shot dead by still unidentified motorcycle riding assailants.
Marquez said they are looking into allegations that the murders are related to the killing of Lapu-Lapu City Muslim Ambulant Vendors Association President Maodin Lucman last June 7.
A crackdown on ambulant vendors was believed to be the motive behind the ambush of former City Traffic Management System (CTMS) chief Frank Brazil who survived the attack.
