Friendship Cup: Spartans escape Silogan ni Gian

Cebu City, Philippines — The Spartans outlasted Silogan ni Gian, 75-72, to snatch their second win in the 2019 Friendship Cup on Monday, April 1, 2019, at the Casals Village gym.

The undermanned Spartans managed to bump their record up to 2-1 (win-loss) after getting a huge 32-point performance from Aristotle Alcos. 

PAREF Springdale Titan standout Joshua Balankig added 18 markers.

Silogan ni Gian, which dropped 1-2, got 22 from former University of Cebu forward RR Luceno and 15 from sharpshooter James Cabilino.

In the other game, V-Drink Malunggay Juice defeated the Rams, 77-68, for its first win of the competition.

Germaine Guarisma led the way for V-Drink with 23 points while Ryan Edward Llanos pitched in 17. 

Team owner John Cabahug added 16 points as V-Drink now owns the same record as its victims. /bmjo
