Ex-inmate shot dead, son wounded in Dalaguete town
A former inmate of the Cebu Provincial Detention Center (CPDRC) was shot dead by two unknown motorcycle-riding assailants in Dalaguete town, Monday night.
Fabian Debuayan was headed home with his son Loreto on board a tricycle when two men on board a motorcycle passed their way in sitio Cambangyao, barangay Poblacion.
The back-rider then fired several shots on the two victims. Both were rushed to the nearest hospital. Doctors declared Fabian dead on arrival at the Julio Cardinal Rosales Memorial Medical Center after he sustained several gunshot wounds in his body.
His son sustained a graze wound on his back.The elder Debuayan was implicated in a murder case but was released after the court acquitted him in November last year.
PO2 Godofredo Glipa of the Dalaguete police said they are still investigating whether the crime is related to Debuayan’s murder case He also said Loreto has no criminal records in their town.
