Fugitive falls in year’s ‘biggest drug haul’
Police arrested a man tagged as the sixth most wanted person in Central Visayas and seized packs of suspected shabu in what police described as the biggest drug haul in the region this year.
Dominador Hera, 47, was arrested during a raid in his house in Cabul-an Island in Buenavista town in Bohol yesterday.
The raid was based on a search warrant issued by Cebu City Regional Trial Court Judge Macaundas Hadjirasul.
Seized were one big pack, six medium packs and two small packs suspected to contain shabu.
Supt. Marvin Sanchez, chief of the Regional Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operation Task Force (RAIDSOTF), said the seized suspected drugs are estimated to cost P11.8 million.
The raiding team also seized a rifle, a .357 cal. revolver, a .9mm pistol, a baby armalite rifle and assorted ammunition.
Chief Supt. Prudencio Bañas, chief of the Police Regional Office in Central Visayas (PRO-7), presented Hera before the media yesterday and congratulated the elements of Regional Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operation Task Force (RAIDSOTF) for the accomplishment.
Hera cried as he was presented by the police. He refused to make a statement.
Sanchez said aside from selling illegal drugs, Hera is also involved in illegal fishing.
Hera is a native of Cabul-an Island but is already residing on Magsaysay Street in barangay Pasil, Cebu City.
Bañas thanked the public for reporting to them about Hera’s illegal activities in the island.
Police said Hera is allegedly a known pusher whose area of distribution includes Lapu-Lapu City, Olango Island, Cebu City and the whole province of Bohol.
