The Fourth-ranked Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters advanced to the sudden-death phase of the quarterfinal round after they easily dispatched the ninth-seed Barako Bull Energy Colas, 105-76, last night in the 40th PBA Philippine Cup at the Ynares Center in Antipolo City.
The twice-to-beat Tropang Texters posted leads of as many as 35 points in coming away with the easy victory.
Talk ‘N Text will next play the winner in the Barangay Ginebra-GlobalPort series.
The Kings, enjoying a twice-to-beat edge, and the Batang Pier were still playing as of this writing with the former looking for a win that will earn them the right to play Talk ‘N Text.
The other sudden-death duel pits the Alaska Aces and the Meralco Bolts, who last Thursday night defeated the NLEX Road Warriors and the Purefoods Star Hotshots, respectively.
Rookies Matt Ganuelas-Rosser and Kevin Alas powered the Tropang Texters to the win by combining for 33 points.
