Bilibid’s maximum security compound rocked by blast; at least 5 injured

MANILA, Philippines–At least five inmates were injured after an explosion occurred at the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) on Thursday morning, Radyo Inquirer 990AM said.
Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) Director Franklin Jesus Bucayu said a grenade has caused the explosion which occured at 9:55 a.m.
The explosion took place a few minutes before a command conference inside the NBP.
The authorities have yet to determine the cause of the explosion.
