TEAM Bangan displayed nerves of steel in the endgame, outsteadying Team Original’s, 77-75, to cop the championship crown of the 1st Randall Cup of the HomeBoys Saturday Night Basketball at the Cebu Eastern College (CEC) Basketball Lower Court.
Gil dela Cerna carried Team Bangan to victory as he erupted for a game-high 27 points.
Noel Caño and Harold Tan each scored 12 markers, Daniel Caño chipped in 10 for the winning team, which took off to a sloppy start and trailed at the end of the first period, 12-21.
Team Bangan’s stalwarts also reaped individual awards with John Carlo Salinas bagging the Most Valuable Player (MVP) trophy and Daniel Caño winning the Sportsmanship award.
In the other game, Team Knights dumped Team Earl PSACC, 70-57, to pocket the third place trophy in the tournament held in memory of the group’s founder Randall Joseph Prado.
