Roadside trees along Osmena boulevard to be pruned
The Cebu City Parks and Playgrounds Commission will start pruning roadside trees along Ś. Osmena road tomorrow.
Arlie Gesta, Parks and Playgrounds administrator, said more than 50 trees will be pruned along the side of the road from pier 3 to 6.
“Delikado man gud ang trees kung pasagdan ang height. Hazardous man gud kung taas kaayo (It’s dangerous if the trees are allowed to grow in height. It’s hazardous if they are tall). That’s the main reason and also for beautification purpose,” Gesta said.
The trees will be pruned to 30 feet tall. He said no permit is needed from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) 7 for the pruning but they informed the agency which told them to submit a letter to their office for documentation.
