CEBU CITY–A team from the Cebu City Public Safety Company has started arriving at the Malacañang sa Sugbo on Thursday morning to secure what will be the Office of the President in the South.

Sr. Supt. Joel Doria, Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) chief, told reporters that since the building will be used again, additional security is needed for the building.

Aside from one team of the Cebu City Public Safety company, another team from the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) of Cebu City will also be deployed there.

Insp. Roy Manguilimotan, deputy head of the public safety company, said each team is composed of eight personnel who would be working on a 12-hour shift.

Doria has also directed the Waterfront Police Station to put up a beat patrol in the area.

According to Jonjie Gonzales, chief of staff of Presidential Assistant for the Visayas Michael Dino, repairs of the building have already started.

Dino will hold office at the Malacanang Sa Sugbo, where President Duterte will stay whenever he is in Cebu.
