MISS Universe 1993 Dayanara Torres took to Instagram to express her excitement over the staging of the prestigious pageant in the country next year.
The beauty queen turned nostalgic about the event, which will be held in the Philippines after two decades of wait.
On August 2, Dayanara posted a photo of what she calls her “secret stash” that is composed of a bunch of dried mangoes dripped in chocolate and polvoron, which are the country’s delicacies, and a white box with a miniature of
Filipino flag on top.

Dayanara was the reigning queen when Philippines last hosted Miss Universe way back in 1994. She fell in love with the country, stayed for a few years to star in movies and television shows, and had a short romance with actor Aga Muhlach.
The next Miss Universe pageant will be held January next year, with the reigning Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach turning over the crown in her home country.
