THREE men were arrested for allegedly raping a 10-year-old girl inside a boarding house in Lapu-Lapu City at past 10 p.m. yesterday.
Senior Insp. Editha Patalinhug identified the suspects as 39-year-old Julius Dagatan, 28-year-old Junel Garcia and his 33-year-old brother Julito Garcia.
All three are detained at the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office pending the filing of charges against them.
Dagatan and Julito Garcia face charges of rape while Junel Garcia will be charged with acts of lasciviousness, Patalinhug said.
Patalinjug, chief of the Women and Children’s Protection Desk (WCPD) of the Mactan police precinct, said the victim recounted to them that she was invited by her call center friend to a drinking session at a videoke bar in Barangay Mactan.
The three men who happened to be friends with the call center agent joined them. They later went back to the boarding house where the victim fell asleep in her room, only for Dagatan to barge in and allegedly molest her.
The two Garcia men later broke into her room and molested her. All three men allegedly threatened to kill her if she reported the incident to the police.
The girl reported the incident to her mother who then filed a complaint at the Mactan police precinct.
The three men denied raping the victim, claiming that she consented to it.
