An unknown assailant on board a motorcycle shot dead a male jeepney passenger in Barangay Mabolo, Cebu City on Friday evening.

Carmelito Curaraton, driver of the jeepney with a O4L route (Lahug, SM, Ayala), told investigators of the Mabolo Police Station that he was moving at a moderate speed due to traffic along St. John Paul II Avenue heading to the Asia Town IT Park at 8:20 p.m. when a man on a motorcycle drove by his jeepney and shot the victim.

Investigators, however, have yet to establish the identity of the passenger, who is between 20 to 30 years old.

Police recovered an empty shell of a 9mm caliber pistol in the crime scene. The jeepney with a plate number GWU 347 was loaded with 16 passengers when the shooting happened.
