AFTER THREE days of intense action, only three netters from Cebu are left in the hunt for the title as the other two kissed their championship hopes goodbye in the Palawan Pawnshop-Palawan Express Pera Padala (PPS-PEPP) Olivarez Cup yesterday at the Olivarez Sports Center in Sucat, Parañaque.

Among those who moved closer to the crown is top-ranked Cebuano Johnny Arcilla, who subdued fellow Cebu bet Arthur Craig Pantino, 6-4, 6-1. He is set to face Jet Asilo today.

Also making it to the next round in the men’s division is Bogo City’s Jan Godfrey Seno. Seno survived Dave Mosqueda, 6-7 (5), 6-1, 7-5, and Kristian Tesorio, 6-2, 6-1.

Hannah Espinosa is the third Cebuano netter to advance as she scored an easy win against Joanne Tan, 6-3, 6-1, in women’s play.

But an acid test awaits Espinosa in the next round as she is set to take on reigning champion Shaira Hope Rivera.
