A SUSPECTED Akyat Bahay gang member was gunned down by three unidentified men around 1 a.m. yesterday in Barangay Buanoy, Balamban.

Emy Cañas, 28, also a suspected drug runner, sustained two gunshot wounds in the chest resulting to his death.

Senior Insp. Ramil Morpos, chief of Balamban police station, said Cañas was already sleeping with his live-in partner when the assailants wearing bonnets entered their house and shot the victim twice.

Morpos said somebody might have been angry at the victim, who allegedly got involved in several theft cases in the area.

Meanwhile, a man suspected of killing his coworker was shot dead around 4 p.m. last Tuesday in Barangay Vito, Minglanilla.

SPO2 Oliver Dacua of Minglanilla Police Station said Justin Geonzon Jr., 24, was sitting somewhere in Barangay Vito, where he went into hiding after allegedly killing fellow construction worker Rodelio Bravo, when an unidentified man shot him in the back several times.
