Mean badminton action this Sat in Baddicts Fun event
THE Baddicts Stars will stage their 3rd Badminton Fun Tournament at Racquet Zone Badminton Courts tomorrow, August 27 at 6 p.m. featuring levels E, F and G.
Awaiting the level champions are medals, cash prizes and gift items while the runners up will receive medals and gift items. Players will also get the chance to win raffle prizes during the tournament.
Spawned through an online forum for badminton enthusiasts, the pioneer group established the Cebu Chapter of Baddicts.com (your daily badminton fix) back in 2004. The decline of the sport’s popularity in 2008 saw the group informally disbanding but then a separate group of badminton fanatics caught up with the namesake and inadvertently kept the Baddicts torch burning.
Just last year, members of the original and new groups came face to face through the common love for the sport and decided to form the new group, Baddicts Stars.
Their 3rd Badminton Fun Tournament is sponsored by Kopiko 78°C, Golden Ryu, WP Furniture, FORD-Minglanilla, Alberto’s Pizza, Gp Gutierrez and Wilson Miflores. As with Baddicts Stars tradition, tournament participants will be treated to a fellowship meal after the games.
