THREE Cebuanos kissed their championship hopes goodbye after they bowed out in the Philippine Columbian Association (PCA) tennis tournament yesterday in Paco, Manila.
After getting booted out in the Olivarez Cup a week ago, misfortunes continued for both Bogo City’s Jan Godfrey Seno and UAAP Season 77 Rookie of the Year Josshua Kinaadman, who absorbed elimination round losses.
Seno’s late rally fell short and lost to Raymond Diaz, 7–6 (5), 6–2, while Kinaadman suffered a blowout loss to Marc Reyes, 6–1, 6–1.
Another Cebuano, Arthur Craig Pantino, looked headed to the semifinals after racking up victories against Joshua Miranda, 1–6, 6–1, 6–1, and Jimmy Tangalin 6–4, 7–6 (3), but faltered against PJ Tierro, 2–6, 2–6.
