Felicia Marie’s Ramblings

AS we wrote about a month ago in Cult Cuts, Felicia Marie Magsaysay Sun launched a booklet of her poems at Cafe Georg on July 30, her birthday, and reason enough for her proud mom, Myra Magsaysay Sun, to organize a dinner party.

Everyone got a copy of “Ramblings of the Heart” at his/her assigned seat. Before, during, and after dinner Felicia Marie’s well wishers found it hard to resist opening the book and reading the poems.

Felicia Marie has been inspired by her late father, Franco Sun, who passed away last year. As she said in her speech:

“He was my rock, my best friend, and when he was alive everyone else pale in comparison. He answered my every need, he was my shoulder to cry on. He never failed to compliment my achievements, but also called out when I made a mistake.

“I was in a dark place but because of the love of my family, specially my mom, my brother and sister, I was able to overcome.

“There are poems that I wrote that rhyme and there are those that don’t. Poems do have rhythm but do not necessarily have to rhyme.

“Most of the poems are dedicated to my family. My brother and sister have babies of their own. This book is my baby.”
