A FILIPINA beauty has brought home the crown for this year’s Miss United Continents 2016 held at the Palacio de Cristal in Guayaquil, Ecuador on Saturday.
Twenty-three-year-old Jeslyn Santos, who hails from Hagonoy, Bulacan, stood out from among 27 other candidates, becoming the first Asian to win the beauty title. Her court consists of the delegates from Denmark, India, Brazil, Mexico and Panama.
“Di ako makapaniwala. Salamat po,” said Jeslyn in a Facebook Live when asked about her win.
Before becoming the country’s representative to the Miss United Continents, Jeslyn joined the Binibining Pilipinas pageant in 2014 and 2016.
The Miss United Continents is a beauty tilt run by Maria del Carmen de Aguayo, which started as the Miss American Continent in 2006 and recently expanded worldwide and has later renamed to its now pageant title.
