FILIPINA actress and singer Rachelle Ann Go will be flying to New York to conquer Broadway as she reprises her role as Gigi in the revival of Miss Saigon next year.

She will be joined by theater actor Devin Ilaw who will also join the cast in New York City as he reprises his role of Thuy, which he portrayed in the 2010 Toronto revival of the Miss Saigon.

Directed by Laurence Connor, the musical will be staged on its original home at Broadway Theater starting March 1, 2017, until January 13, 2018.

The critically acclaimed musical Miss Saigon is a Cameron MacKintonsh Broadway revival of Claude-Michel Schonberg and Alain Boublil.

During the first week of September, Rachelle Ann was pulled out from the Divas Live in Concert with fellow Cornerstone talents Angeline Quinto, Kyla, Yeng Constantino and KZ Tandingan for a “major project.”

And, the good news is out!

“I think I’m really going to BROADWAY!” tweeted Rachelle Ann, who obviously could not contain her happiness.

Rachelle Ann started her singing career in the Philippines before leaving the country to
pursue her love for theater.

She has first portrayed the role in London’s West End which earned her the Best Supporting Actress in a Musical at the 2015 What’s On Stage Awards.

After her stint at Miss Saigon, Rachelle Ann was cast as Fantine in the West End production of Les Misèrables.

The Filipina actress and Devin will be joining fellow Filipino talents including Fil-Am theater actors Jon Jon Briones as The Engineer and Eva Noblezada, who portrayed the titular character of Kim in Miss Saigon’s West End production in 2014.

Ilaw most recently performed in the new Broadway production of Les Misèrables. His other theater credits include “M. Butterfly,” “Wearing Black,” “The King & I,” and Thuy in the 2010 Toronto production of Miss Saigon.

Tony Award–winning theater actress and singer Lea Salonga congratulated Rachelle Ann for her new achievement.
