Quake hits Agusan del Norte

A 4.8 earthquake was experienced at Nasipit, Agusan del Norte province at Saturday dawn.

The website of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the earthquake registered an intensity two in Cebu City and Cagayan de Oro while it registered as an intensity three in the cities of Surigao and Gingoog and the provinces of Misamis Oriental, Mambajao and Camiguin.

Remedio Romualdez and Magallanes towns in Agusan del Norte experienced intensity four quakes while Butuan City and Carmen town in Agusan del Norte experienced an intensity five quake.

The quake’s origin was tectonic and there were no aftershocks that occured, Phivolcs said.
