Starting Tuesday October 18,, the whole stretch of UN Avenue will be a No Stopping Zone with only two passenger jeepney and one bus loading and unloading areas. No pedestrian would be allowed to cross there except at the intersections only.

Mandaue City Mayor Luigi Quisumbing said motorists have to observe the junction with markings or they will be fined P1,500. Traffic enforcers will be deployed along the whole stretch to fine jaywalkers.

The jeepney loading and unloading areas are at Pacific Mall Terminal and at a vacant lot a few meters past corner DM Cortes and UN Avenue towards Marcelo Fernan Bridge.

Mayor Quisumbing identified UN Avenue as a traffic hotspot.
