WORLD Boxing Organizatiom (WBO) International super lightweight champion Jason “El Niño” Pagara is expected to have his hands full in his upcoming fight as the power-punching ALA Boxing Gym star will be pitted against a former world champion in the undercard of Pinoy Pride 39: IBF World Championships on November 26 at the Cebu Coliseum.

Pagara will fight former world champion Jose “Quiebra Jicara” Alfaro (28-10-1, 24KOs) of Nicaragua in a 10-round, non-title showdown in the undercard of the explosive fight card to be headlined by the IBF interim world light flyweight title fight between Milan “El Metodico” Melindo (34-2,12KOs) and Fahlan Sakkreerin Jr. (31-4-1,16KOs) of Thailand.

In his most recent fight, Pagara, 28, won over Latin American Abraham Alvarez by knockout last July in San Mateo, California, USA. He is on a 12-fight winning streak since 2012.

Alfaro on the other hand, was unimpresssive in his last two bouts. He lost to Mexican Pedro Campa last April by decision and his fight previous to that against another Mexican ended in a draw.

The 32-year old Alfaro won the WBA world lightweight title in 2007 against Thai Prawet Singwangcha by split decision. He lost the world title the following year against Japanese Yusuke Korobi by TKO in Japan.

The other boxers that will be featured in Pinoy Pride 39 include Pagara’s younger brother “Prince” Albert Pagara along with fellow ALA Boxing gym pugs Jeo Santisima, Kevin Jake Cataraja and Jimmy Paypa.
