More than 1,000 Cebu City’s senior citizens received their cash aid in areas designated by the mayor’s office starting at 7:30 am Thursday.
Esmeralda Barcelo, one of the BMO staff said they waited for the other senior citizens until 12 noon.
This afternoon, disbursing officers will visit bed-ridden elders in their homes.
Maria Lumagsao, 67 who has been receiving the cash aid for seven years now, was accompanied by her daughter Maribel Lumagsao-Bontilao earlier.
“Magpahatod ra mi og taxi diri sa Aznar inig kuha sa assistance then mag-taxi na sad pabalik,” Bontilao shared.
Barangay Councilman Giovanni Aznar, assigned by Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña, led the distribution of cash aid at the Aznar coliseum.
