Inasal festival, Sinulog comeback for Talisay

The Talisay City government plans to return to the Sinulog Grand Parade and stage the longest Inasal festival in January next year.

Councilor Doroteo Emit, chairperson of the city’s tourism committee, said the two events are expected to draw a share of the Sinulog tourists into their city.

The Talisay City government was supposed to have their annual Inasal Festival last month as one of the activities during the fiesta celebration of the city’s patron saint, Sta. Teresa de Avila.

Emit said they opted to postpone the festival and time this with the city’s 16h charter day celebration on January 12, 2017.

To make the celebration even more interesting, Emit said they will aim for the city’s inclusion in the Guinness World Record for having the longest and the most number of “inasal” (roasted meat) placed on display at the same time.
