CEBUANO cyclist Jun Vincent Duron only finished second in the final leg but it was enough to bag him the overall championship of the 2016 Asian Mountain Bike (MTB) series yesterday in Sarawak, Malaysia.

The 31-year-old Talisay-native Duron clocked one hour, eight minutes and 38 seconds in the final leg won by Malaysia’s Amir Shahrin (1:06:16).

Kusnadi Adi finished third with a time of 1:12:24.

Coming into the initial competition, Duron was holding a 34-32 lead over fellow Rapidino Racing teammate Adi in the overall tally.

With the second place finish worth 18 points, Duron garnered a total of 52 points at the end of the three-leg series. Adi finished with 48.
