CEBU CITY–The Police Regional Office in Central Visayas (PRO-7) has ordered the relief of the police station chiefs in all four towns on Camotes Island, Cebu due to poor performance in the campaign against illegal drugs.

Relieved from their posts were Senior Insp. Janus Giangan of San Francisco, Insp. Sigmund Freud Cruz (Tudela), Insp. Jade Sumugat (Poro), and Insp. Emmanuel Rabaya (Pilar).

They were directed to report to the Regional Public Safety Battalion in Central Visayas (RPSB-7). Appointed news police stations chiefs were Senior Insp. Philip John Libres (San Francisco), Senior Insp. Cecilio Pañares (Tudela), Senior Insp. Roberto Hugo (Poro), and Insp. Cesar Carlos Alburo (Pilar).

A turnover ceremony was held at the Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO) on Thursday morning.

“Don’t be dismayed. Reshufflings are part of being a policeman. We adhere to the wisdom of our bosses. You, in the field, just have to follow orders and deliver what’s required of you,” Senior Supt. Eric Noble, CPPO director, told the affected policemen. In an interview, Noble said the four relieved police station chiefs had a dismal performance in their respective assignments. As managers, the higher-ups just have to make the necessary adjustments,” he said.
