Three women, two of them sisters, were captured during a drug buy bust operation over the weekend in Barangay Maguikay, Mandaue City in possession of over a P1 million worth of suspected illegal drugs.

The operation spearheaded by the Regional Special Operation Group in Central Visayas (RSOG-7) resulted to the arrest of sisters May Ann and Mar Eve Baruel and Nestle Cañete, all of whom are residents of Maguikay and alleged big-time drug operators in the area, according to a report released today by RSOG 7.

The women were nabbed after they delivered packs of suspected shabu (methamphetamine) to an RSOG 7 operative who acted as a buyer in the transaction done at past 2 a.m. on Saturday, the report said.

The women, however, claimed that what the police seized from them was only salt, even as the operatives said the women were in possession of drug paraphernalia and white crystalline substance believed to be shabu with an estimated value of 1.180 million.

The women are currently held at the RSOG 7 office inside Camp Sergio Osmeña, the headquarters of the Police Regional Office- Central Visayas (PRO 7) located along Osmeña Boulevard, Cebu City.
