Christmas Village of Hope 2015

THE enchanting Christmas Village of Hope, now a prime attraction of SM City Cebu, is back! On Nov. 11, Friday, SM City Cebu is set to unveil the Christmas Village of Hope and light the giant Christmas Tree at the Northwing Atrium.

Couple Clayton & Joji Tugonon, owner of the miniature Christmas village supports the advocacy of SM in giving welfare for the less fortunate. This project of Christmas display is set-up year after year when it was first displayed in the home of the couple.

Since the first launch of the Christmas Village of Hope, the couple has happily been collecting Christmas Village houses for a long time and intends to keep doing so as the Christmas spirit lives on in Filipinos, most especially those celebrating within the Kythe community.

The Tugonon couple’s first meeting with the pediatric cancer patients from Cebu Cancer Institute, Kythe partner hospital in the Visayas, opened up something in their hearts and spurred change for future beneficiaries of a major fundraising project. Setting up the lights and sights of the Christmas Village of Hope year in and year out can be a daunting task, but for Clayton and Joji Tugonon, their mission is always to see the patients survive, grow up, and lead happy lives.

Highlighting the Christmas Village of Hope this year is a display of miniature churches of the world, in addition to the miniature houses, old churches, trains, among others.

Donors may check the Facebook account bearing the name “Christmas Hope” to choose the miniature houses they wish to adopt or sponsor for P5,000. Also available are miniature trains which cost P20,000 per carriage, while the churches of the world will range from P15,000 to P25,000. You may also visit the Northwing Atrium beginning November 11 for donations and pledges.  Name of the donor will be displayed in the miniature figures adopted.

Proceeds will help fund the chemotherapy and radiation of the children with cancer under Kythe Foundation, Inc.

Shoppers will also get to witness the official start of the long Yuletide season with the lighting of the Christmas Tree at the Northwing Atrium, plus lots of surprises and world-class entertainment.

All these and more are happening on Nov. 11, Friday, 6PM at the Northwing Atrium of SM City Cebu. /PR
