Traffic advisory tomorrow for Lapu feast day

TRAFFIC advisories were issued yesterday by Lapu-Lapu City Hall in relation to the city’s annual celebration starting tomorrow.

The portion of GY dela Cerna Street in the public market area will be closed to traffic since it was designated as the assembly area for the civic military parade and floats.

The parade will pass through the S. Osmeña Street towards the Hoops Dome where the showdown will be held.

The City Traffic Management System (CTMS) starts closing the roads at 10:30 a.m.

Motorists going to and from Cordova area may use P. Rodriguez and Dimataga streets.

Those from the Poblacion area going to and from Tamiya Basak may also use the Humay-Humay road.

On Saturday, November 19, the procession of the Our Lady of the Rule will start at 4:30 p.m. and the route will pass through Lopez Jaena, GY Dela Cerna streets and back to the church.

Mayor Paz Radaza advised visitors from mainland Cebu to pass through the Mandaue-Mactan bridge if they are not going to the Poblacion area.

On Sunday, a procession for the Christ the King Church will pass through roads in the Poblacion area at 3:30 a.m.

Trucks are banned within a 100-meter radius from the Poblacion area to avoid traffic congestion.

Monday, Nov. 21 or the feast day, is declared a local holiday in Lapu-Lapu City.
