The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 7 Regional Director Yogi Ruiz has formally filed criminal and administrative complaints against all the elected officials of Barangay Ermita at the Office of the Ombudsman-Visayas Friday morning.

The administrative complaints include gross misconduct, gross neglect of duty, and conduct prejudicial to the best interest of the service while the criminal complaint is for violation of Article 233 of the Revised Penal Code.

The complaint stemmed from alleged non-cooperation of the said barangay officials during a drug raid in a “shabu tiangge” located within Unit 2 of Carbon Public Market area.

Conducted by PDEA 7 last November 6, the raid resulted to the arrest of Richard “Tata” Cañete, whose syndicate allegedly maintains the said tiangge as well as 14 others who were caught using illegal drugs during the raid.
