USJ-R topples SWU to bag Cesafi men’s volley crown

The University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Spiking Jaguars pulled off a 25-16, 23-25, 29-27, 25-21 victory in Game 2 of the finals to dethrone the Southwestern University (SWU) Cobras in the Cesafi men’s volleyball tournament Sunday night at the University of San Carlos (USC) Main gym.
With the victory, USJ-R, which last won the title in 2013, denied the Cobras a sweep of this year’s Cesafi collegiate volleyball titles. It also exacted sweet revenge against SWU, which defeated the Lady Jaguars Sunday afternoon for the women’s crown.
