No slowing down for Harley-Davidson of Cebu

ONE YEAR since it opened its doors to the Cebuano market, the Harley-Davidson of Cebu dealership has so far done a good job in promoting the legendary American motorcycle brand.

Regan Rex King, dealer principal of Harley-Davidson of Cebu, said the dealership, which opened November of 2015, is growing and has also observed that Cebu actually has a strong following for Harley-Davidson bikes.

King was present during the Full Throttle: Rock & Ride event last Saturday at the former Sacred Heart School-Jesuit campus in General Maxilom Avenue, Cebu City, wherein the Harley Owners Group (HOG) Cebu chapter was officially launched.

Despite the good showing of Harley-Davidson motorcycles in Cebu, King said the dealership is still looking to expand its market here.

“We are trying to reach to different sectors not just to those who have tattoos like what we see in the movies,” King said. “We try to connect to businessmen, millenials and people from other professions. In fact, we also try to approach women as well.”

In order to achieve that, King said he needs to assure that potential market that the dealership is always ready to take care of them should they own a Harley.

“Harley is an expensive toy. We know that they just want to enjoy their bikes, so we’re here. We want them to know that we can help them enjoy it more,” he said. “We can help them with their bike maintenance. If they want to buy some accessories, they can always come to us. If their bikes need some fixing, we also offer some services. We provide general merchandise, parts, and accessories for their bikes.”

Meanwhile, Gilmar “Chico” Ramas, HOG Director, said the presence of the Harley-Davidson dealership in Cebu is a big help for the group.

“HOG coexists with (the) Harley-Davidson dealership. Without them, we won’t exist,” Ramas said. Ramas added that the dealership also played a huge role in helping them with their launching.

HOG Cebu is an association for Harley owners in Cebu. The members are entitled to perks, discounts, and membership to the international HOG community.
