ABOUT 20 houses made of light materials were razed while several persons including three seniors were displaced by a fire that broke inside the Ludo Cemetery at Ponce 1, Barangay Carreta in Cebu City at past 3 p.m. Monday.

The fire started at the house of a certain Rowena Niel who was nowhere to be found during the incident.

“We are still investigating what really caused the fire since we cannot find Niel in the area,” senior fire officer Daniel Relatado Jr. said.

No one was reported hurt during the fire incident that was put under control at 4:10 p.m. Damages were pegged at P50,000.

In Sitio San Jose, Barangay Sambag I also in Cebu City, two houses were destroyed while three others were damaged by a fire at past 6 a.m. yesterday.

No one was hurt. Senior Fire Officer Rogelio Dabalos estimated the damage at P100,000.

The Cebu City Fire Department said the fire was put out 30 minutes later, and it reportedly started at the house of a certain Aquilina Ermac.

Dabalos said they are still verifying the cause of the fire which they believed to be caused by a busted electric connection.

In Barangay Guizo, Mandaue City, a fire struck a two-storey structure housing motorcycle parts and hydraulic system services at 3:29 a.m. last Sunday.

Damages were pegged at P120,000.
