A man took his own life after allegedly killing his co-worker in Barangay Biasong, Talisay City around 4 p.m. last Wednesday.
Romelo Pelpe, 42, of Himamaylan, Negros Occidental, shot himself in the right temple after allegedly shooting dead his co-worker Roel Terado, 40, of Compostela town, northern Cebu. Terado was hit in the head and back portion of his body. Both of them worked as fighting cock handlers at a farm in Biasong.
According to PO3 Jason Del Campo of Talisay City Police Station, Pelpe ran towards their bunkhouse and drank an insecticide after the incident. Not contented, Pelpe took a gun and shot himself in the right temple.
The .45 pistol allegedly used in the shooting was turned over to barangay tanod Eduardo Naranjo who was the first to respond to the shooting alarm. Del Campo said the two had an old grudge.
