Bai Hotel in Mandaue opens 500 job vacancies

BAI Hotel Cebu, the flagship project of local hotel developer and operator Bai Global Properties Inc., is opening more than 500 job opportunities during its job fair today, December 19.

Last Friday, Bai Hotel vice president for operations and general manager Alfred Reyes said that the hotel is looking for competent individuals with a passion for the hospitality industry.

Reyes said that they need to hire guest services staff, receptionist, bell boys, chefs for those who have a background in culinary arts, telephone operators, security guards, waiters and waitresses, housekeeping staff, room cleaners, engineers, and sales and marketing associates and supervisors, among others.

Bai Hotel’s first massive job hiring aims to attract applicants not only in Mandaue City but in neighboring provinces as well.

“(This is a good opportunity) not only for Cebuanos but also for those in the neighboring provinces who would like to migrate to Cebu in hopes of landing a good job (in the hospitality industry),” Reyes said.

The hotel management will eventually add 200 more applicants in the future as it bolsters its operations, Reyes added.

While educational attainment is a definitive factor of an applicant’s knowledge and skills, Reyes said that the hotel only considers this to be of secondary importance next to attitude and drive to serve customers.

“People always ask ‘What’s your preferred course?’ My answer to that is none. Because as long as you have the right attitude and you have the passion to serve, the rest is common sense. When the guest needs something, all you need is to deliver. And that’s what makes a customer happy. And they will keep on coming back,” said Reyes.
The job fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the meeting rooms A, B and C located on the third floor of SM City Cebu.

Applicants must bring their resume and application letter and are required to be in corporate attire.

“We want them (applicants) to dress to impress,” Reyes said. “You have to sell yourself. How can you serve if you are not confident with yourself?”

Female applicants are not allowed to wear sleeveless blouse, trousers and flat shoes.

Bai Hotel is a 23-story hotel poised to become Cebu’s next top lifestyle destination located along Ouano Avenue, corner Seno Boulevard, North Reclamation Area in Mandaue City. It will have 668 hotel rooms and is set to open in the middle of 2017.
