IT WAS ANOTHER fruitful day for University of the Visayas (UV) Baby Green Lancers’ assistant coach Van Halen Parmis and the rest of the volunteer coaches who helped in his sports clinic at the Sisters of Mary School- Boystown in Minglanilla town, south Cebu yesterday.
This after, Parmis brought in the National University (NU) Bulldogs Men’s collegiate football team from Manila to help out in his charitable activity.
The team was headed by coach Mari Aberasturi.
Also helping out were Cesafi volleyball coaches Jordan Paca and Charlie Orocios, USPF collegiate football coach Eleazar Toledo, UV Green Lancers coach Jonathan Belano, triathlon and swimming coach Roland Remolino and multi-titled table tennis player Val Stephen Jaca.
Parmis started this free sports clinic for the 1,600 less fortunate boys of the school last December. It became a fully organized sports clinic last Jan. 7 and 8 after he tapped numerous sports personalities and groups helped out.
As an added treat, Parmis revealed that there will be a match between the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) Magis Eagles and the UV Baby Green Lancers as part of the ongoing National Basketball Training Center (NBTC) competition on January 28 at the school.
NBTC head Eric Altamirano, who is also the head coach of NU Bulldogs collegiate men’s basketball team, will spearhead a basketball clinic on the same day.
Parmis said he plans to hold this sports clinic regularly as part of his advocacy to help the less fortunate.
