THE DEFENDING Cesafi champions University of the Visayas (UV) Green Lancers kept on rolling as they routed the University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters, 97-84, in the 2nd Raul Cabanero Inter-Collegiate Basketball Tournament on Wednesday night at the Bulacao Sports Complex in Talisay City.
Four players scored in double-figures for the Green Lancers with Tristan Albina and Michael Maestre leading the way with 16 points apiece. Big man Jayson Balabag chimed in with 13 while Cesafi MVP Rey Suerte had his say with a dozen points.
The Webmasters got 21 points from returning big man Melvin Butohan, 14 from Jhan Jabello, 13 from Justine Dacalos and 11 from JR Puerto.
In the other game of the double-header, the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Jaguars slipped past the Cebu Institute of Technology-University (CIT-U), 77-71.
RJ Dinolan was his usual lethal self with 24 points while hulking reinforcement Kingsley Ewineke added 15. Albert Catiloc also helped the Jaguars out by scoring 12.
