IN LINE with the ongoing grassroots program at the Cebu City Sports Institute (CCSI), the Cebu City Sports Commission (CCSC) looks to expand its range by visiting different parishes in the hopes of helping potential athletes hone their skills with the right coaches.
CCSC commissioner Allan Borres Delantar told Cebu Daily News that they are going to roam around Cebu in two weeks’ time to assist athletes not only in the city but also in the province through the help of the parishes.
“Our purpose for inviting and asking the parishes is to encourage the youth to join our grassroots training programs to divert their attention to sports and also help them avoid illegal drugs,” Delantar said.
Delantar will ask the Archdiocese of Cebu to help them facilitate the program, most especially in the far-flung areas.
