AN AQUATHLON will serve as a side event of the Captivating Camotes-National Age Group Triathlon this Sunday at the Santiago Bay in San Francisco, Camotes Island, Cebu.

The race will feature around a hundred triathletes vying in three categories: the NAGT Sprint, NAGT mini-sprint and the Youth Olympic Games (YOG).

The NAGT Sprint category is a 800-meter swim, 20k bike and 6k run race while the NAGT mini-sprint and the YOG qualifiers category will be a 400m swim, 10k bike and 3k run.

“We just added an aquathlon event as requested by local participants,” said sportsman Oscar “Boying” Rodriguez, who is the organizer of the race.

The race is one of the Youth Olympic Games (YOG) qualifiers for the Philippine National Team. The Youth Olympic Games (YOG) will be held in Buenos Aires in Argentina in 2018.
