EARTHQUAKE!

A 6.5-magnitude earthquake that struck Jaro town in Leyte province yesterday afternoon shook up netizens into venting their alarm on social media.

Gian Inalem Navarro wrote, “I’m about to email my resume in the net cafe while the earth is shaking. Ni-aksyon gyud ko og ’duck-cover-hold on’ sa ilawom (I immediately assumed a ‘duck-cover-hold on’ posture).”

Another netizen, Jover Caesar Baron, said, “I was sleeping but I woke up because my guitar fell on my head.”

Francisco Ybas Benemerito commented, ”Wala diri sa Naga City. Apan nitawag akong anak, kosog sa Ayala Business Park. Nauyog ila (No quake was felt Naga City. But my child called me; it was strong in Ayala Business Park. The tremor shook the) building.”

Brian Quilaquil also said, “Naligo preparing for work akala ko ma collapse ako kasi feel ko taas BP ko (I was taking a bath preparing for work. I thought I would collapse because I felt my blood pressure rise).”
