Suspected drug den raided in Carcar City: 13 persons nabbed; 4 minors rescued

Thirteen persons were arrested while four minors were rescued when police raided on Sunday a suspected drug den in Sitio Cayam, Barangay Napo, Carcar City, 30 km south of Cebu City.

Jerry Tantano, 38, and his brother, Henry, were arrested first during the buy-bust operation in the sitio, said PO1 Marjun Alison of Carcar City Police Station.

Alison said that the Tantano brothers were identified as the persons running the suspected drug den.

Police led by SPO2 Meliton Agadier moved in on the makeshift shanty where the 11 other persons were arrested including the 4 minors, who were caught allegedly using illegal drugs.

Alison said those arrested were Joseph Manucat, 21; Jonel Bagol, 35, Regino Ponce, 47; Anicito Canapi, 37; Lendon Alcomendras, 25; Jerome Recopelacion, 36; Christian Harry Ferrer, 21; Henry Encarnacion, 44; Marlon Mapuno, 28; Rogen Avila, 24; Noel Segarino, 35; and Joselito Cabillon, 35.

Four minors were also caught using illegal drugs inside the shanty.

They were turned over to the city social worker.

Recovered from the suspects were 2 sachets and 2 medium-size packs of suspected shabu abd P3,570 cash believed to be proceeds of the illegal trade.

The suspects were detained at the Carcar City Police Station pending the filing of charges.
