THE CEBU chapter of the Philippine Senior Bowlers (PSB) was officially formed last July 16 with the election of its first set of officers at the Gaisano Bowlingplex.
Elected officers for the PSB Cebu Chapter were Edgar Alqueza (president), Lorenzo Co (executive vice president), Geffrey Buyco (secretary), Tess Regino (treasurer), Romy Mauro (auditor ), Clifford Tan and Vivian Padawan (P.R.Os), Dr. Bede Llano and Bel Suelto (advisers), and Celis Viloria and Johnny Yap (tournament directors).
Philippine Bowling Federation (PBF) ordered the formation of the group, which is composed of senior bowlers from the Bowlingplex Tenpin Association (BTA) and the Cebu Tenpin Bowling Association (Cetba).
The PBF is the country’s governing body for bowling.
PSB’s mission is to provide bowlers aged 50 and above to have regular exposure in bowling tournaments.
“This group is created to give us a chance to experience as well as organize top caliber tournaments,” Padawan said. “We hope we can strengthen this group in the coming years that is why we want all Cebuano senior bowlers to join us regardless of what club they represent.”
First on the agenda of PSB Cebu is to hold regular monthly tournaments and fun games. The group is planning to hold its first fun games on August and the first monthly tournament on August 20. Both will be held at the Gaisano Bowlingplex.
