Netizens were aghast over reports on an ex-cop’s murder of his family before he committed suicide at their home in Barangay Valladolid, Carcar City.
Edgar Sanchez Sr. noted how drugs had caused trouble for the ex-cop and opined that this case “should be investigated” and should not just be concluded as (a) murder suicide (case) especially it includes drugs.”
He then lamented that “we are becoming like Mexico’s drug cartel.”
The ex-cop was reported to be assigned at the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office but was removed from the service over a controversy involving a drug raid.
Another netizen, named Yacgnil Nyll, said, “Wala na ni sa maung panghunahuna cguro tungod na ni sa depression ug frustration sa pgkawala sa iyang trabaho ug ang kaulaw sa tibuok pamilya nga ilang giatubang. .ang nakabati iya giapil … ang iya pamilya labi na ang mga bata
(He must not be thinking right because of the depression and frustration that he felt when he lost his job and the shame experienced by his family. It was too bad that his family, specially the children, died because of this.).”
